General description of products Ramor 500

Ballistic protection steel with high hardness.

Ramor® 500 is a high-hardness ballistic protection steel available in thicknesses of 2.0-30.0mm (0.079-1.18″) and hardnesses of 490-560 HBW.

Ramor® 500 is available in 2.0-6.5mm (0.079-0.256″) cut sheet and 6.0-30.0mm (0.236-1.18″) slab. Supplied in a hardened condition, Ramor® 500 is not intended for further heat treatment.

Mechanical tests

Brinell hardness test according to EN ISO 6506-1 for each individual heat treatment/coil.

The hardness is measured on the milled surface 0.3-2 mm below the surface of the plate.

  • Tolerances on the dimensions of a sheet with a milled edge according to a special agreement.

Form

Tolerances according to EN 10029 for plate and according to EN 10051 for sheet.

Flatness

Tolerances in accordance with SSAB flatness tolerances which are more restrictive than EN 10 029 Class N (Type L steel) and EN 10 051.
