Everything you need to know before ordering
DILLIMAX is a high-strength fine-grained steel manufactured using Q&T technology (quenched and tempered). The yield strength is 2–4 times higher than conventional structural steels (S355). This allows for a significant reduction in the weight of structures, savings on transportation and installation, with the same or higher safety. At the same time, DILLIMAX retains excellent weldability due to its low carbon equivalent.
The range includes 6 main grades: DILLIMAX 500, 550, 690, 890, 965 and 1100 (yield strength in MPa). Available thicknesses: 500/550 - 6–200 mm, 690 - 6–290 mm, 890/965 - 6–160 mm, 1100 - 8–40 mm. DILLIMAX TL (precise tolerances for crane booms) and Z-grade (with guaranteed properties in the thickness direction) are available separately.
These are different classes of guaranteed Charpy impact strength at low temperatures: B (Q) — guaranteed at -20°C, T (QL) — at -40°C, E (QL1) — at -60°C. The choice depends on the operating climate and project requirements. For Europe and Ukraine, the T-variant is typically used, for arctic conditions or increased safety — E.
Yes, this is one of the key advantages. Thanks to its low carbon equivalent (CEV), DILLIMAX can be welded reliably and economically with modern technologies. The factory provides detailed recommendations according to EN 1011-2: technology, preheating temperature (if necessary), electrode selection and welding sequence. For thin thicknesses, preheating is often not required.
DILLIMAX complies with EN 10025-6 (S500Q–S960QL1) and ASTM A514. Has DNV and ABS approvals for offshore applications. Each sheet is UT-tested to EN 10160 (S1 E1) — exceeding the requirements of the standard. Each batch is provided with a 3.1 certificate to EN 10204 with the results of chemical analysis and mechanical tests. On request — Z-grade to EN 10164 (Z15/Z25/Z35).
As an official Dillinger partner, HARD STEEL INDUSTRY provides direct deliveries. Some brands (in particular DILLIMAX 690) are available from stock. Production order terms depend on the brand, thickness, size and volume - we will provide accurate information upon calculation within 1 business day.
