Everything you need to know before ordering
DIFENDER is a new generation of high-strength armor steels from Dillinger. Thanks to a full metallurgical cycle and decades of experience in heavy plate, the plant achieves a unique combination of ballistic resistance, processability and stability of properties. The steel has official approval TL 2350-0000 and complies with VPAM and STANAG.
The line includes 8 grades: DIFENDER 270, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 PH (hardness 250–640 HBW). Available thicknesses 6–150 mm. DIFENDER 500 — thicknesses 6–80 mm, width up to 2500 mm, length up to 8000 mm. DIFENDER 600 — 6–25 mm. Other sizes — by agreement.
The choice depends on the required level of protection. DIFENDER 270–350 — basic levels with increased viscosity. DIFENDER 400–500 — basic grades for armored vehicles. DIFENDER 550–600 — reinforced and add-on armor for critical threats. Our engineers, together with Dillinger experts, will help with technical selection.
Yes. The factory provides detailed recommendations according to EN 1011 for cutting, welding and forming. DIFENDER 500 is cold bendable (with the recommendation to grind the edges after thermal cutting). DIFENDER 600 is not cold bendable due to its high hardness. Further heat treatment above 200°C (for 500) or 150°C (for 600) will impair the ballistic properties and is not permitted.
Official military approval TL 2350-0000 (Bundeswehr standard). Ballistic resistance is confirmed by VPAM and STANAG tests in accredited laboratories. For each batch - quality certificate 3.1 according to EN 10204 with the results of chemical analysis, mechanical tests and, if necessary, ballistic tests.
