General description of products

Successful lightweight construction requires the use of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels. Our innovative steel grades provide exceptional advantages in weight reduction and ease of processing. Our alform® x-treme steels are thermomechanically rolled and accelerated cooled. The microstructure consists of martensite and annealed martensite. Special structural steels are well suited for cold forming and exhibit a high degree of impact strength due to their fine acicular crystals in the martensite. Our steel is also characterized by favorable cutting and stamping properties. The steel can be annealed for stress relief at a temperature of 500 to 550 °C (with a maximum annealing time of 30 minutes).

High-strength and ultra-high-strength heavy plates

Our innovative steel grades provide exceptional advantages in weight reduction and ease of processing. Our high-strength steels alform plate 620 M and alform plate 700 M, as well as ultra-high-strength steels alform plate 900 M x-treme, alform plate 960 M x-treme and alform plate 1100 M x-treme are thermomechanically rolled fine-grained structural steels characterized by excellent weldability and edge properties.

Our alloying strategy involves very low carbon content and low carbon equivalents. This ensures very good weldability. Very high strength steel grades are advantageous in applications where weight reduction is important. They are used in mobile cranes, concrete pumps, metal structures, architecture, as well as automotive and pressure piping systems.
