General description of products

Pressure vessels for acid gases make very special demands on the quality of steel. Only ultra-high purity and uniformity ensure permanent protection against hydrogen induced cracking (HIC).

Strengths of the patented DICREST steel:

  • DICREST has been developed and optimized for use in acid gas resistant pressure vessels. A specially controlled casting and rolling process combined with a final normalizing anneal and post-production stress-relief anneal provide HIC resistance throughout the wafer.
  • We supply DICREST in four levels of HIC resistance – DICREST 5, DICREST 10, DICREST 15 and DICREST PLUS, all in heavy plate form.
  • DICREST naturally meets the requirements for standardized boiler and pressure vessel steels: ASME SA516 Grades 60, 65 and 70, P275 NH, NL1 and NL2, and P355 N, NH, NL1 and NL2.
  • We can also meet your requirements.
  • DICREST comes to you with the security guaranteed by its global links.
  • Other pressure vessel steels can also be supplied to DICREST standards by arrangement, including for example SA537 Cl 1, or acid gas resistant TM steel for tank construction to DI-TANK specifications.
