Creusabro ®

The Creusabro ® series is a wear-resistant steel that reveals its strength properties during operation. The steel is designed to provide an optimal combination of hardness with controlled wear resistance and ease of machining.

General description of products

Creusabro® steels are significantly different from classic low-alloy martensitic wear-resistant thick sheet steels. The basic chemical composition and manufacturing processes of Creusabro® steel products provide a unique combination of special metallurgical characteristics that extend the service life of interchangeable assemblies in critical conditions compared to classic steel wear-resistant ones.

For several years, Creusabro wear-resistant steels have shown optimal performance results that have led to significant reductions in total production costs and production profitability.

Choosing the right materials allows you to save money on manufacturing and repair work, increase the payload and improve the performance characteristics of the equipment.

The small difference in the initial cost of the basic material is greatly outweighed by the direct costs of manufacturing parts, consumables, and labor costs for repairs or replacements, as well as higher indirect costs such as the cost of inventory and production losses due to equipment downtime.

Creusabro® Superten

Extra-thick sheet wear-resistant steel with increased resistance to cracking
• thickness from 50 to 180 mm
• nominal hardness in the state of delivery 340 HB
• guaranteed tensile and impact properties

Creusabro® Superten is a wear-resistant steel with ultra-high tensile properties and increased cracking resistance, used for large structural parts subjected to heavy loads.

Typical applications include working edges of large buckets, excavator ripper teeth, demolition tools, scrap shears and any tool that has high abrasion resistance along with high impact toughness, crack resistance and good machinability.

Creusabro® Dual

Creusabro® Dual – steel with a high titanium content. The combination of a pre-hardened matrix (compared to the matrix in the C8000 brand) with additional wear resistance created by large particles of titanium carbides provides increased wear resistance in sliding wear conditions while maintaining impact resistance.

This new brand is designed mainly for heavy duty applications. work, when traditional steels with a hardness of 550 – 600 HB, with a hard alloy coating, sheets with a deposited layer or hard steel parts are usually used, despite their low resistance to destruction. Creusabro® steel has found wide application for transshipment trays, lining of vibratory feeders, screens, lining of trolleys, wear bars of buckets.

Specifications

Main metallurgical characteristics:

  • Increase in hardness up to 70 HB
  • when strengthening the surface during operation
  • Fine dispersion of solid microalloys. particles
  • Deep strengthening regardless of thickness
  • High mechanical strength
  • Viscosity and crack growth resistance
  • Homogeneous sv-va and low residuals. voltage
  • Resistance to hardening up to 450″

The properties of Creusabro® 4800, 8000, Dual steels result from a combination of the optimal content of alloying elements and appropriate heat treatment processes. Moderate hardening rates in the production process are aimed at:

  • development of a bainite-martensitic microstructure with residual austenite, which has special properties due to this;
  • activation of fine dispersion of solid microalloyed carbides, which increase wear resistance during sliding;
  • production of thick sheet steel with uniform through-hardening and a low level of residual stresses along the thickness of the sheet.

Chemically active surface
In Creusabro® 4800, 8000, Dual steels, the wear resistance during operation is significantly increased by means of surface strengthening up to 70 HB under the action of local plastic deformation caused by the impact of rocks or the pressure of abrasive particles. This phenomenon is known as the TRIP effect.

Deep reinforcement
Moderate quenching rates used in factory practice result in uniform through-hardening in plate steel and low through-thickness residual stress

High temperature resistance
The brands are suitable for continuous operation at working temperatures up to 450°С. The special chemical composition and initial microstructure result in a high resistance to hardening compared to classic water-hardenable steels, which lose their hardness above 220°.

Size range

Creusabro® thick sheet steels are produced in a low CO2 process in Belgium and France by ArcelorMittal Industeel, a leading European producer of special steels. They are available in a wide range of sizes: from 3 to 180 mm thick, depending on the brand. Standard sheet length: 6000, 8000 and 12000 mm, width: 2000 and 2500 mm. It is possible to manufacture sheets with sizes to order within the limits given in the table below.
