DIWETEN

Resistant to atmospheric influences, easy to work and weld

General description of products

The decision to use weather-resistant steel provides valuable service and durability benefits. The use of such steels is even more cost-effective if they also have excellent machinability and weldability.

Strengths of DIWETEN patented steel:

  • DIWETEN is our patented weathering steel according to EN 10025-5, whose properties have been optimized, especially with regard to weldability.
  • There is one medium strength grade, DIWETEN 355, plus an extra high strength variant, DIWETEN 460+M.
  • Grades 355 and 460 are available in the TM (thermomechanical rolling) delivery condition as DIWETEN 355+M and DIWETEN 460+M.
  • The thermomechanical rolling process used for DIWETEN 460+M allows combining no less than three outstanding properties: ultra-high strength + resistance to atmospheric corrosion + extremely good weldability.
  • The special aesthetic appeal of DIWETEN also inspires famous sculptors, including the American Richard Serra, who makes his steel sculptures from this material.
