Tolerances

EN 10029 or EN 10051 standards are used for dimensional tolerances. Thickness tolerance class C according to EN 10029 is guaranteed.
The application of the thickness tolerance corresponds to the Miilux narrowed thickness tolerance, which is more restrictive than EN 10029 class C.

The tolerances of EN 10029 class N, type H steel are guaranteed for flatness.

Surface condition

The guarantee for surface defects is provided according to EN 10163-2 (class B, subclass 3).
The surface of the steel plates is sandblasted according to ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½.

Unless otherwise stated, Miilux products are supplied with a factory primer specially designed to ensure very high welding and cutting speeds after sandblasting, with very low welding porosity and very low burning rate in the return zone.

The factory primer protects the structure from atmospheric corrosion during storage. It is applied at a thickness of 15-25 microns (these values are for a smooth test panel). The type of paint used has characteristics suitable for welding and cutting processes.

Marking is done with a punch.
Marking is done with paint.

Product certificate

Certification is carried out in accordance with EN 10204.
Test results are provided in English and/or Turkish in accordance with EN 10204-3.1.
For EN-10204-3.2 test certificates, this should be specified when ordering.

Dimensions and delivery terms

Miilux products are supplied in a maximum width of 2500 mm and a maximum length of 8000 mm. Requests for special dimensions should be discussed at the ordering stage.
By discussion at the ordering stage, Miilux products can be supplied as components, cut ready for assembly according to the customer’s request.
Requests for Protection 500 in other dimensions should be discussed at the time of ordering.

Ultrasonic testing

It can be carried out in accordance with the EN ISO 10160 standard. Contact Miilux sales at the ordering stage to find out about the application class.

Ballistic characteristics

Ballistic tests of Miilux Protection 500 were conducted in accordance with EN 1522, VPAM, STANAG 4569 and MIL-DTL standards and meet their requirements.

The Brinell hardness test is applied to each armour steel in accordance with the principles of EN ISO 6506-1. If the thickness of the hardness measuring area is less than 4.75 mm, the 5/750 HBW measurement method is used. For other thicknesses, the 10/3000 HBW method is used.
The hardness tests are carried out on the machined surface at a depth of 0.50-1.00 mm from the surface of the armour steel.
The Charpy V-notch impact test is applied in the directions perpendicular and parallel to the rolling direction in all castings and thicknesses* in accordance with the principles of EN ISO 148-1.
For products with a nominal thickness of less than 11.00 mm, smaller specimens are used. The determined minimum impact value is then proportional to the cross-sectional area of the test specimen. (*when ordering 6.00 mm and thicker armor steel)
