The right selection of sheet metal
The right choice of sheet metal
The growth of technical and operational indicators and productivity of both the equipment in general and its individual parts depends on the correctly selected sheet metal.
Rolled sheets made of Hardox® steel are characterized by excellent technical and operational characteristics, wear resistance and a long service life. All these properties can be maximized by selecting the material for specific conditions and areas of application.
The assortment of Hardox® steel products covers a wide range of standard sizes, grades, and cuts. Where thickness limitations existed not long ago, SSAB has been able to overcome them, producing products from 0.7 to 160 mm (0.028 to 6.30 inches) thick. In combination with new cuts and mechanical properties, this opens up a real space for creativity in project activities.

The ideal balance of hardness, strength and ease of processing is guaranteed regardless of the grade or thickness of the rolled sheet. Read more about the guaranteed properties and standard sizes of our steel products.

Payload and service life
Payload and lifetime
Increasing the payload and extending the service life is a worthy return on investment in equipment.
The use of wear-resistant Hardox® steel allows you to reduce the weight and extend the service life of truck bodies, containers, dump trucks, buckets, garbage trucks and other equipment.
Due to the hardness and strength of Hardox® steel, which was originally designed to combat wear, it can be used to make load-bearing parts of a wide variety of structures. Rolled sheets made of Hardox® steel are used in the production of wear-resistant, strong and light structures.
To date, Hardox steel has gone a long way in development. Products from it are produced in a wide range, and along with traditional rolled steel Hardox® steel, wear-resistant pipes and round rolled products are manufactured.
Stainless steel for durable equipment
Exceptional resistance to abrasive wear has become a key condition for the success of Hardox® steel sheet. Today, its hardness and strength indicators have reached an unsurpassed level, allowing it to withstand the strongest mechanical impact without being exposed to irreversible deformation and cracking. So the owners of equipment and machines can have no doubt that Hardox® steel will reliably protect their property from shocks, shaking, friction, jolts and other mechanical loads. Products made of our steel reliably serve day after day in extremely difficult conditions.
Owners of motor vehicles or other machinery make sense to consider the purchase of equipment manufactured using Hardox® steel as a strategic investment in their business. You will appreciate the extension of the service life of the equipment by two to three times, five to ten times and even more. However, the matter is not limited to extending the service life: equipment without unsightly cracks and dents looks much nicer during operation.
Confirmed by payload
The use of sheet metal from Hardox® steel in the production of truck bodies, containers or concrete mixers helps to reduce the weight of machines, which, in turn, has a positive effect on fuel efficiency, legally permissible payload and even on the dimensions of vehicles, the reduction of which most often leads to a reduction in fuel .
The lighter the car body, the more cargo can be transported. So, for example, the carrying capacity of a lightweight Hardox® steel waste container increases by 10-20%, and in some areas of application – even more.
Increasing the carrying capacity, and therefore the payload, allows to reduce the number of flights per shift. The lower the curb weight of the car, the lower the fuel consumption, and therefore the operating costs. Additional advantages are provided by the possibility of full recycling of products made of sheet metal, which have served their purpose, without loss of properties and reduction of technical and operational characteristics of Hardox® steel.
So whether you need to move a mountain, dig a trench or haul a heavy load, rely on Hardox® steel to make the world stronger, lighter and cleaner.
