General description of products
Due to its anti-corrosion properties, COR-TEN® minimizes the need for maintenance and treatment to prevent corrosion, significantly reducing maintenance costs throughout the product’s life cycle. In addition to low maintenance costs, the reduced need for corrosion protection means less paint and solvent use, making COR-TEN® an environmentally friendly steel choice.

Size range
COR-TEN® A hot-rolled steel is available in thicknesses of 2.00-12.70 mm and widths up to 1860 mm in coils, cut coils and cut to length, as well as 3300 mm slabs. Length up to 16 meters in cut form and 13 meters in slab form.

Tolerances
COR-TEN ® A comes with SSAB weathering tolerances with improved warranties compared to the corresponding EN standards. More information is available at SSAB.com
Thickness
Hot Rolled Strip: Thickness tolerances are ⅔ EN 10051 as default value. Upon special agreement, tolerances up to ½ EN 10051 can be delivered for certain products and sizes.
Plate: Thickness tolerances are ¾ of EN 10029 as default values.
Length and width
Hot-rolled strip: width and length tolerances according to the SSAB standard, which offers smaller tolerances compared to EN 10051.
For rolls and sheets with a milled edge, width tolerances correspond to -0/+20 mm.
For rolls and sheets with a cut edge, width tolerances correspond to -0/+2 mm.
Length tolerances apply only to sheets cut to the required length.
Plate: Width tolerance -0/+4-10 mm depending on thickness. Length tolerances are -0/+15-75 mm depending on the length.
The form
Hot-rolled strip: shape tolerances according to EN 10051. Narrower tolerances according to SSAB standard available on request.
Plate: Shape tolerances according to EN 10029.
flatness
Flatness tolerances guarantee a maximum deviation from flatness of 3 mm/m in addition to the flatness requirements of EN 10051.
Flatness guarantees apply only to sheets cut to the required length.
Plate: maximum flatness deviation of 6 mm/m.
Surface properties
According to EN 10163-2 class A, subclass 3.
Terms of delivery
Coils, cut coils and cut to length: controlled rolling or thermomechanical rolling.
Sheet: hot-rolled, normalized rolled or normalized in the furnace.
Inspection documents
The verification document is indicated at the time of ordering. European types of inspection documents are defined in the EN 10204 standard.

COR-TEN® A has added corrosion resistance with good formability, strength and weldability.
