General description of products
SSAB Boron 22 is a steel for hardening and pressing. The degree of hardness and viscosity that can be achieved after heat treatment will provide the final products with wear and impact resistance properties that guarantee a longer service life.
Size range
SSAB Boron 22 is available in a thickness range of 0.70-80.00 mm and widths up to 1800 mm in coils, slotted coils and CTL and 3300 mm in slab form. Length up to 16 meters in cut form.
Mechanical properties
Bend radius
The minimum bending radius of the hot-rolled strip is 2 times the thickness of the sheet. A smaller bend radius of 1 x sheet thickness may be warranted for annealed strip products.
The minimum bending radius of SSAB Boron 22 hot-rolled thick sheet is 3 x sheet thickness up to 16 mm. For instructions on bending thicker plates, contact SSAB Technical Support.
Material testing
A test certificate according to EN 10204/2.2 (chemical composition) is part of the delivery.
A test certificate according to EN 10204/3.1 can only be provided by special agreement.

Tolerances
SSAB Boron steels are supplied with SSAB Boron tolerances that meet and exceed the requirements of the relevant EN standards. Tighter tolerances are available upon request.
Thickness
Cold-rolled coils and sheet products: according to EN 10131. Tighter tolerances available on request.
Hot Rolled Coils and Sheets: To SSAB boron thickness tolerances that exceed EN 10051 and meet 2/3 of EN 10051 as a default value.
Hot-rolled sheet products: supplied with tolerances that meet 3/4 of EN 10029 as a default value.
Length and width
Cold-rolled coils and sheet products: according to EN 10131. Tighter tolerances available on request.
Hot-rolled coils and sheets with shaped edges: SSAB Boron width tolerances correspond to -0/+20 mm.
Hot-rolled coils and cut-edge sheets: Width tolerances of SSAB Boron correspond to -0/+2 mm.
Hot-rolled sheet: width tolerance -0/+4-10 mm depending on thickness. Length tolerance -0/+15-75 mm depending on the length.
The form
Hot-rolled coils and sheets: SSAB Boron is supplied with shape tolerances in accordance with EN 10051. Tighter shape tolerances are available on request.
Hot-rolled sheet products: shape tolerances according to EN 10029.
flatness
Hot rolled sheets: SSAB Borion tolerances guarantee a maximum deviation from flatness of 6mm/m in addition to the flatness requirements of EN 10051. Flatness guarantees only apply to sheets cut to the required length.
Hot-rolled sheet: maximum deviation from flatness 6 mm/m.
Surface properties
Hot-rolled strip and hot-rolled plate: according to EN 10163-2, class A, subclass 3.
Terms of delivery
Cold-rolled coils and sheets are delivered in an annealed state.
Hot-rolled coils and sheets are supplied in rolled or annealed condition by separate agreement.
Heavy slabs are ready for rental.
Surface condition
Cold-rolled products are produced with an oiled or dry surface.
Hot rolled strips are available in unetched, dry etched or etched and oiled state.
Heavy plates are available as rolled, shot blasted or shot blasted and primed.
